Not Jacobite Scots

She has serialised her her grandfather William Alfred Williamson’s Boer War reminiscences as

http://notjacobitescots.blogspot.co.uk/

and is now continuing his life story in the blog.  The blog title relates to the  family myth that they were descended from Scots who came down with Bonnie Prince Charlie and deserted at Derby.  However she has found no evidence to support this and can trace the Williamsons back to Nottinghamshire in 1604.
